Michael entered the cat fancy in Canada in 1990 and began breeding and showing Birmans under the prefix Panador. Michael bred Birmans for 15 years.

Michael gained his All Breeds judges licence in 1998 with the Canadian Cat Association. Since arriving in Australia in 2007 Michael has become licensed with QFA Inc in 2008 and has judged in Queensland, NSW, WA and SA as well as previously in Canada, USA and Germany.

Michael served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Cat Association for 5 years.
